Hindon CEVA Primary School: Where Happy Children Learn! - Maintaining a 'Good' Ofsted grade - October 2018!

Kestrels

Welcome to Kestrel Class

Our KS2 Class currently consists of Years  3, 4, 5 and 6.  We offer our pupils a broad and balanced curriculum based on a creative, cross curricular topic based approach. This approach enables pupils to make links between subjects and provides purposeful learning.

Our holistic approach to learning is based on our school ethos of supporting all pupil to leave Hindon School with a set of Growth Mindset  skills; resilience, reflection, team work and self awareness as responsible global citizens. We believe that this provides our pupils with valuable life -long learning and social skills. With small numbers in each year group, children benefit from focused individual support and higher order thinking extension activities. We believe that children who are aware of their strengths as learners, progress successfully towards their future potential.

Ofsted 2014
"Year 6 pupils say their learning tasks are ‘challenging and interesting’. This is evident in the increasing proportion of pupils reaching the highest available levels in national tests"

"Teachers have worked well together to update the curriculum and to plan exciting topic work to engage and interest pupils. There are positive relationships between adults and pupils in all classes. Pupils settle quickly to tasks and are keen to complete them to a good standard"
