Kestrels

Welcome to Kestrel Class

Our KS2 Class currently consists of Years  4, 5 and 6. Children are taught in ability or Year groups for the core subjects: Literacy, Numeracy and Science; and in mixed ability groups, pairs or independently for Creative Curriculum activities.

Children are encouraged to develop transferable learning skills such as resilience, reflection, team work and self awareness and on our Christian Core Values. We believe that these skills are valuable life -long learning and social skills. With small numbers in each year group, children benefit from focused individual support end extension activities and we believe that children who are aware of their strengths as learners, continue to fulfil their future potential.

Ofsted 2014 reported....

"Year 6 pupils say their learning tasks are ‘challenging and interesting’. This is evident in the increasing proportion of pupils reaching the highest available levels in national tests"

"Teachers have worked well together to update the curriculum and to plan exciting topic work to engage and interest pupils. There are positive relationships between adults and pupils in all classes. Pupils settle quickly to tasks and are keen to complete them to a good standard"
