London Parliament and Shard Trip
Years 5 and 6
Monday 6th February
We have arranged a fantastic trip for Years 5 and 6 pupils to the Houses of Parliament, 10 Downing Street and the Shard experience on Monday 6th February. We will have a staff ratio of 1:4 to ensure that children are well supervised. We will travel by train from Tisbury to Waterloo.
8.00: Please meet us in the Waiting Room at Tisbury Railway Station
8.22: Train to London Waterloo
10.19: Arrive at Waterloo Station and walk across Westminster Bridge to Parliament
11.00: Tour of Parliament including Westminster Hall and Prime Minister’s Question Time
1.00: Downing Street – we will be allowed through the gates to stand outside No 10
1.30: Westminster Underground – tube ride to London Bridge and the Shard
2.00: View from the Shard experience – the tallest structure in Western Europe! We will visit the garden on the 72nd floor! And will compare this modern structure with the ancient Tudor Hall at Westminster Parliament.
3.30: Underground tube ride from London Bridge to Waterloo Station.
4.20: Leave Waterloo Station for Tisbury.
6.08: Arrive at Tisbury Station. Please meet us on the platform.
Your child will need:
ü Smart school uniform
ü Sensible walking shoes or training shoes
ü A warm coat/hat, gloves etc
ü A rucksack type bag to carry a packed lunch
ü Packed lunch - that can be easily eaten ‘on the go’ and plenty of snacks that can be eaten on the train.
ü Please only water to drink.
ü Reading books, playing cards, note book etc something small to do on the train.
The cost of this trip will be £20.00 per child. Payment needs to be paid to the office by Monday 30th January.
