Expectations for school uniform

Main School Uniform                                                       

Coat - navy, black or grey waterproof and warm school coat

Expectations of Pupils and Parents

Pupils

Pupils are expected to wear the correct uniform at all times  
PE Uniform can be worn to school on Swimming/PE/Forest School days
Pupils should not wear ‘Sport Branded’ Logo clothing
Pupils should not wear jewellery

Parents and carers

Parents and carers are expected to make sure their child has the correct uniform and PE kit, and that every item is:

  • Clean
  • Clearly labelled with the child’s name, especially sweatshirts, they can so easily go missing.
  • In good condition 
  • The correct size
  • Has age appropriate fasteners  

Parents are expected to lodge any complaints or objections relating to the school uniform in a timely and reasonable manner.

Disputes about school uniform:

  • Complaints will be dealt with in accordance with our school Complaints Policy
  • Additional items of adornment are not part of our school uniform and parents are required to ensure that pupils do not wear them to school.
  • Should our uniform policy not be adhered to, the school will contact parents in the first instance as a reminder, if the issue isn’t resolved, the school Governors will contact parents.

Additional items of adornment or jewellery, should not be worn to school:

For example:  

  • amber bead necklaces, chains and bracelets; large hair clips and bows, earrings other than safety studs
  • large sports watches and fitness trackers  
  • tattoos, nail varnish, nail extensions or gel type nails 
  • hair colour and braid extensions 

Additional items that identify a medical need or demonstrate belonging to a particular religious group must be approved by Governors.
