Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Hindon Primary School is a small, thriving village school with growing popularity. We offer a creative curriculum, high-quality teaching, and a holistic approach to education that nurtures every aspect of a child’s development. At Hindon, each child is valued as an individual and supported to flourish—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Welcome to Hindon Primary School Website. We are proud to be a vibrant village school with a strong sense of community and a welcoming, family feel. Rooted in traditional values and guided by high expectations, we nurture and inspire every child to reach their full potential. Our aim is to ignite a lifelong passion for learning, empowering our pupils to become confident, creative, and aspirational individuals who are well-prepared for the future.
"Hindon School is a happy place where pupils feel valued. They enjoy coming to school. Leaders are determined all will succeed and the Staff have high expectations of what pupils can achieve. Pupils enjoy their learning. Staff have an accurate view of pupils individual needs. Pupils appreciate the opportunities provided for them beyond the classroom and these support them well with their personal development. " Ofsted 2022.
Outdoor learning is a key part of life at Hindon. Pupils benefit from our Wild Area all year round – Wellington boots and waterproof leggings are part of our uniform! Whether building dens, making mud pies, or exploring the tree house, children enjoy daily access to nature during playtime. Dedicated Forest School sessions, led by our specialist teacher, further support pupils’ social and emotional development.
We also offer specialist music teaching and weekly swimming lessons, encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle and enriching the curriculum.
"Leaders provide opportunities for pupils to develop as individuals. Pupils talk fondly of how the Forest School visits help to promote their social and emotional needs."

Curriculum enrichment is a strength of our school. Visitors, trips, and hands-on experiences add greatly to pupils’ enjoyment and learning. Every child is included in a broad and balanced curriculum that sparks individual interests and enables each child to flourish.
We support busy families with wraparound care: our Breakfast Club opens at 8:00 am, and after-school care is available via the TAC Club in Tisbury until 6:00 pm. We also have excellent transition links with both Gillingham and Shaftesbury secondary schools.
"Parents are positive about the school. They appreciate the inclusive and supportive ethos provided for their children. Pupils say the school is one big family" Ofsted 2022
