In English we have been studying the text 'Lila and the Secret of Rain'. We had a go at writing our own call and response poems to show how people who live in Kenya might feel when it rains, which is probably very different to how we feel!

DT - Wheels and axels
We started our DT topic by investigating things with wheels in our school! We learnt that the mechanism used to make wheels move is called and axel and it is attached to an axel holder. We made our own mechanisms using carboard wheels and tooth picks!

Year 3 have been learning about angles and turns.

In the classroom we have learnt about forces using magnets. The children learnt about the different poles and how they attract an repel.
We have also learnt about Animals and their Habitats.

This week we talked about what it means to 'volunteer' and the difference between this and donating. We now know that volunteering giving up your free time for no reward, whereas donating is just about giving something.
We made posters to put around our village to ask for volunteers to come forward for our Sponsored Walk in May!

STAFF SPIN-A-THON!
On Friday 4th April our staff will be taking part on a spin-a-thon where they will take it in turns to cycle in 15 minute slots for a total of 6.5 hours!
