Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty; Hindon Primary School is a small and increasingly popular rural village school where a creative curriculum; good teaching and a holistic approach to supporting the development of the whole child, enables each, individual child to flourish.
"Hindon School is a happy place where pupils feel valued. They enjoy coming to
school. Leaders are determined all will succeed and the Staff have high expectations of what pupils can achieve. Pupils enjoy their learning. Staff have an accurate view of pupils individual needs. Pupils appreciate the opportunities provided for them beyond the classroom and these support them well with their personal development. " Ofsted 2022.
Specialist Music and Sports teaching help all our pupils discover their potential and a commitment to local sports partnerships enable our children to take part in competitions and festivals.
Pupils benefit from our Wild Area all year round. Wellington boots and waterproof leggings are part of our uniform! Pupils have access to the wild area at playtime where they can build dens, climb on logs, make mud pies or climb in the tree house. Outside learning is part of every day life at Hindon School.
Dedicated Forest School sessions and group Mindfulness sessions amongst the trees are led by our Forest School teacher. Welly Walks across the Downs and weekly swimming lessons also encourage pupils to benefit from a health lifestyle. "Leaders provide opportunities for pupils to develop as individuals. Pupils talk fondly of how the forest school visits help to promote their social and emotional needs." Ofsted 2022
Excellent curriculum enrichment activities; visitors and visits add greatly to the pupils' enjoyment of school and to their learning. At Hindon School, every child is included in a broad and balanced curriculum so that individual interests are ignited and each child has the opportunity to flourish.
School opens at 8.00 am for Breakfast Club and after school care is provided by the ZAC Club via mini bus to a few miles away until 6.30 pm.
