Welcome to Hindon CEVA Primary School ......... Where Happy Children Learn!

PE and Sport Premium

Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

At Hindon Primary School, a high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It provides opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.

The Daily Mile!

The Daily Mile is a social physical activity, with children running, wheeling or walking – at their own pace – in the fresh air with friends. Children can occasionally walk to catch their breath, if necessary, but should aim to run, jog or wheel for the full 15 minutes.

In March, the Universities of Stirling, Edinburgh and Highlands & Islands found that 15 minutes of self-paced exercise, such as The Daily Mile, is beneficial for pupils’ cognition and wellbeing.

Friday 6th March - THE BIGGEST EVER FOOTBALL SESSION!
Our school was part of a nationwide celebration, highlighting the importance of inclusivity in sports, showing pupils in our school that girls belong in football!
Our KS2 girls stayed for a special, one-off After School Club to touch up on their skills. They played lots of dribbling and passing games and then had a 5-aside match!

We are passionate about ensuring all of our pupils have a time and a place to feel confident and comfortable when taking part in physical activity. Therefore, during our play times, we follow a rota which allows everyone to enjoy a sport without fear.
